1950 - 2016

From the 1950s through 2014, ACA meetings evolved significantly in scale and structure, but they consistently reflected the collaborative spirit of the crystallographic community. In the early decades, the meetings were typically hosted on university campuses, where the program was shaped not only by a dedicated team of scientific program chairs but also by local organizing chairs who coordinated venues, logistics, and on-site arrangements. As the meetings grew in size and complexity, they gradually moved from academic settings to professional conference centers and hotels, yet the tradition of shared leadership and strong local involvement remained a defining feature of ACA’s annual gatherings.
