Communications CommitteeThe Communications Standing Committee was formed to guide and coordinate public communications on behalf of the American Crystallographic Association and to support outreach on behalf of the structural science community. Its work reflected the Association’s growing emphasis on external engagement, visibility, and communication with both members and the broader scientific public. Over time, the Committee oversaw ACA outreach and public-facing communications, including the management of social media platforms working in coordination with the Executive Director and the Chair of the Young Scientists Interest Group (YSIG). The Committee also reviewed requests for ACA funds to support outreach activities and made recommendations to the ACA Council regarding the allocation of those funds. The Committee met at least annually. The Chair was responsible for reporting the Committee’s activities to Council in writing at the Annual Meeting, ensuring that communications and outreach efforts remained aligned with the Association’s mission and priorities.
